Sia

Sia (full name Sia Isabelle Kate Furler) was born in Australia on December 18, 1975. She made her début as a singer/songwriter in the Nineties as a member of the Crisp band then branched off on a solo career in 1997 with the release of an album entitled “Only See” (Flavoured Records label). Keen to discover new musical areas, the young singer worked with various British artists, including Zero 7, Jamiroquai and Massive Attack. She went on to release her first single, entitled “Taken for Granted,” which featured a sample from the “Romeo and Juliet” ballet score. Always looking to widen her horizons, Sia next worked with various singers: Christina Aguilera (“Bionic” album), David Guetta (“Titanium” single), Florida (a track named “Wild Ones”) and Rihanna (Diamonds for which she wrote the lyrics). In 2010, Sia also wrote “My Love” for the score of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Then, in 2014, she created a stunning effect with her Chandelier single, taken from her album entitled 1000 Forms of Fear– a subtle blend of pop, reggae and electronica. This was followed by a much more personal opus, named “Healing is Difficult,” an ode to her partner, whom she lost in a tragic car accident. Several other albums have followed: “Colour the Small One” (2004), “Some People Have Real Problems” (2008), “We are Born” (2010) and “1000 Forms of Fear” (2014). This Is Acting is the upcoming, seventh, studio album, scheduled to be released on January 29, 2016. The album was preceded by the release of the lead single Alive on September 24, 2015.
