En attendant Bojangles
"En attendant Bojangles" is a French film by director Régis Roinsard, adapted from the novel of the same name by Olivier Bourdeaut. It stars Virginie Efira and Romain Doris, whose passionate love story borders on mild madness. Camille and Georges are an eccentric and crazy couple. They love fantasy and have only one desire, to make their life a perpetual party. In this chaotic lifestyle, only one routine is tolerated, dancing to Nina Simone's song "Mr Bojangles". It was therefore impossible for the French director not to incorporate the song of one of the greatest voices of the 20th century into the soundtrack. Having failed to obtain the rights to use Nina Simone's version, in the end it was the New Zealand artist Marlon Williams who performed the song in the film. And even if he doesn't quite manage to match the emotional power of the soul diva, his interpretation undoubtedly contributes to the film's success.
