Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran, real name Edward Christopher Sheeran, is a British singer of Irish origin, born on 17 February 1991. The red-haired, tattooed pop-folk artist was introduced to music at an early age and composed his first songs at the age of 11. At the age of 16, he left school to devote himself entirely to music and practised on stage by taking part in " free style " evenings, open to amateurs. He produced himself and released an eponymous album in 2006 which made him known all over the Internet. Thanks to this popularity, he signed a contract with a subsidiary of Atlantic Records in 2011. This was the beginning of his success with the release of his first album "+" (Plus), which reached number one in the UK album sales. Within two months, sales reached 600,000 copies and the album was certified double platinum. In 2014, he confirmed his success with the release of a second album entitled 'x' (Multiply) which reached number one in the UK and several European countries. The album went on to sell over 10 million copies worldwide, propelling the artist to international stardom. In 2017, he released his third album "/" (Divide), from which the two famous singles "Shape of you" and "Castle on the Hill" were extracted, already very popular with the general public. There is no doubt that this resolutely poetic third opus will charm once again and will further establish the artist's reputation. Not bad for someone who, as a child, suffered from a stammer and got rid of it, aged 9, by rapping on an Eminem album. A successful method that earned him a recent award.
